This issue was brought to our attention by Melanie Watson from CMAC Industries in Creedmoor, NC. This issue will probably be true for any interconnect between Harbinger and Geis regardless of the partner. Problem ------- I just wanted to update you on a problem we had in receiving transactions from Nortel. When I tried to receive the 997 transactions into they wouldn't load. When looking at the information received it looked like it is sent wrapped and there was an un-readable end of line character. Solution -------- I spoke with Harbinger and they looked at the transaction and said there was a hex85 character at the end of each line. Nortel uses Geisco as a VAN, Geisco automatically adds a hex85 character to the end of each line (even though this is not standard in EDI). Harbinger can remove the hex85 character for all transactions received in our account from Geisco. The information now loads into the EDI module without any problems. Another solution would be to update the data translation file in Cleo to strip the unwanted hex85. [Information supplied by Melanie Watson, CMAC Industries, Creedmoor]
