Level Settings The levels associated with each segment are very important components for the generation process. They should not be changed unless instructed by GTR. An example of the type of problem that will be encountered if the level is changed can be illustrated by the following example: A client changed the level for the IT1 (in the 810) segment from 2 to 1. The result of this change was that upon running the Generate EDI Data an Error in Formula message was displayed for each of the mapped elements in the IT1. The reason for this error was that the level change caused the translator to attempt to grab an invoice line record at the header level. Because the invoice line has not yet been scoped, the translator cannot grab invoice line records. Upon changing the level back to 2 the problem was solved and everything worked normally. The bottom line is that you should not change the levels. For more information read the documentation for the Generate EDI function.
