Shift codes are used to define the premium that will be added to the employees rate of pay when the employee works on that shift. For example you may have 2 night shifts with different premiums. When posting time you will be given the opportunity to post a shift code that will apply to the transaction you are posting. If you are posting 8 hours to an employees time sheet and then use a shift code the employee will be paid 8 hours at their regular rate and 8 hours of shift premium.
An employees home shift is defined on the employee profile. If you don't use shifts you need not use this table at all.
