Menu Access
Character: EDI 4 4
GUI: EDI;Transactions/Tasks
When the Receive EDI Data function is run, the system creates an acknowledgement record
in the "edi-ack-log" file for each transaction
set processed in the input file.
This function allows you to review the acknowledgements that have been created by the Receive EDI Data function, to change the status of the
"Acknowledgement sent" flag, and to remove any acknowledgements that are no
longer required.
You will be prompted for the trading partner, and transaction set, as well as the GS and
ST control numbers for the acknowledgement record that you want to work with. You will
then be positioned on the record with information closest to the values entered. To move
between records, use the |UP| and |DOWN| arrow keys. You can also browse the EDI
acknowledgement file using a variety of browse options.

Modify Mode
If you press "M" while browsing records, a "Modify" frame will
appear. This will allow you to modify existing records. If the record is in use by
another user, you will receive a message to that effect, and will be returned to the
browse frame.
The interchange envelope partner, functional group partner, functional group user ID,
trading partner, GS control number, ST control number, version and transaction set of the
acknowledgement being processed will be displayed. You will then be able to update the
"Acknowledgement sent" switch for the record in question. If the value is set to
"yes", then an acknowledgement has already been generated, otherwise, an
acknowledgement has not yet been generated, and can be regenerated using the Regenerate EDI Acknowledgements function.
After you have finished modifying a record, you will be returned to the browse frame, with
the cursor positioned on the next record.
Delete Mode
If you press "T" while browsing records, you will be asked if you want to delete
the record currently being browsed. If you choose to do so, then the record will be
deleted, and the cursor will be positioned on the next available record, unless you are
deleting the last record, in which case, you will be positioned on the next to last
record. If you have deleted all EDI acknowledgement records, you will be returned to the
menu.
Attaching Memos:
Open-ended memos can be attached to any EDI document record by using Hypertools' Attach
Memo function, available through the standard help or by entering ESC-T or ALT-T. You may
also select to view the memo, if one exists, when browsing an EDI acknowledgement record.
These memos are purged automatically when you run Hypertools' Print Memo Tags function,
with the "Purge Orphans" parameter set to "yes" and the "Print
Memos" parameter set to "no".
