Employee Maintenance - Codes

Menu Group: File Maintenance

The employee control switches and codes are entered on this screen. The highlighted codes all have underlying lookup tables previously defined and should be created prior to entering employees. Some of the codes are optional; this will be noted in the field definitions below.

US Screen

The P.E.R.S. box below will only appear if the employee works in the State of California. Click on the P.E.R.S. box for its topic.

 

 

Field Description Mandatory
E.I. Click off for employees that will not be covered by the Federal Employment Insurance scheme. See the appropriate government publications for more information on who is eligible and who is not.
CPP/QPP Click off for employees that do not participate. See the appropriate government publications for more information on who is eligible and who is not.
Company Pension Not used at this time.
Commission Indicates whether the employee is commissionable or not. Memo only, has no effect on employees pay.
Direct Deposit Click for employees that will receive their pay via direct deposit. The direct deposit information must be defined in the employees profile.
Print Stub Controls stub (Direct Deposit form) printing for employees who are direct deposit. Click for print; leave un-clicked for no stub.
Costback Click for employees whose employer share will be costed back.
Vacation Included Click if you want to include the employees vacation pay in their check. Used for high employee turnover or for part time employees.
EI-Code Enter the appropriate EI code for this employee. yes
Compensation Code Enter the compensation code for this employee. no
Default Shift Enter the default shift code. no
Vacation Code Enter the employees vacation plan code. no
Sick Pay Code Enter the employees sick plan code. no
Time Bank Code If you are using time banks then enter the code here. no
Split Code For salaried employees enter the split code you wish to use. no
Overhead Code Enter the overhead code. no
Default-gl-dr Enter a default G/L code that will be used for all posting of the employees time. This code will supersede the code on the EBD. no
SuperAnnuation Code For provinces that have a super-annuation plan enter the appropriate code. For Ontario see the OMERS topic for information about setting up and maintaining OMERS. no
Template Code For employees with standard work weeks, i.e. they work the same number of hours in a period and the hours are allocated across the same G/L codes. no
P.E.R.S. Only for State of California no
